Since 2011, the Off Broadway Alliance Awards have honored the best commercial and not-for-profit Off Broadway shows that have opened in the past season. Awards are presented in seven competitive categories: Best New Musical, Best New Play, Best Musical Revival, Best Play Revival, Best Unique Theatrical Experience, Best Solo Performance, and Best Family Show. Each year, Legend of Off Broadway and Hall of Fame Awards are presented as well, recognizing sustained achievement in the world of Off-Broadway.
